How To Make Tasty Cottage Pie with Parsnip Mash

Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 500g parsnips, peeled and diced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a large pan, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the onion, carrots, and garlic, and cook until the vegetables have softened.

Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the parsnips in a pot of boiling water until tender. Drain and mash them with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.

Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish and spread the parsnip mash on top. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese over the mash.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
