How To Make Sandy’s Summer Sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seed
  • 1/2 tsp liquid smoke

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, red pepper flakes, mustard seed, and liquid smoke. Mix well.

  2. Form the mixture into a log shape and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  3. Preheat the grill to medium heat. Remove the plastic wrap from the sausage and place on the grill.

  4. Grill the sausage for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.

  5. Remove the sausage from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
