Ingredients
- 1 cup of chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pistachios)
- 1/2 cup of melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 package of phyllo dough sheets
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 1/4 cup of water
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a bowl, combine the chopped nuts, ground cinnamon, and sugar.

Lay a sheet of phyllo dough in the baking dish and brush it with melted butter.

Repeat step 4, layering the phyllo sheets and melted butter, until half of the phyllo sheets are used.

Spread the nut mixture evenly over the layered phyllo sheets.

Layer the remaining phyllo sheets on top, brushing each sheet with melted butter.

Using a sharp knife, cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown.

While the baklava is baking, prepare the syrup by combining honey, water, sugar, and vanilla extract in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.

When the baklava is done baking, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the syrup over it.

Allow the baklava to cool completely before serving.
