Ingredients

  • 1 cup green peas, boiled and mashed
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the mashed peas, chopped onion, green chili, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin seeds, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.

  2. Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a small ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture.

  3. In a separate bowl, prepare the batter by mixing gram flour and water to form a smooth and thick batter.

  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

  5. Dip each pea ball into the batter and coat it evenly.

  6. Carefully drop the coated balls into the hot oil and fry them until golden brown and crispy.

  7. Remove the fried pea pakora pockets from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain them on a paper towel.

  8. Serve the pea pakora pockets hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
