Ingredients

  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium potato, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup spinach leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix besan, water, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, and salt to make a smooth batter.

  2. Add sliced onions, potatoes, spinach, and cilantro to the batter. Mix well to coat the vegetables with the batter.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan for frying.

  4. Drop spoonfuls of the vegetable-batter mixture into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.

  5. Remove the pakoras from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

  6. Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
