Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 100g heavy cream
  • 50g unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Chop the chocolate into small pieces and set aside.

  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and butter over medium heat until it starts to simmer.

  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and pour it over the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth and creamy.

  4. Add cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to the chocolate mixture. Stir until well combined and no lumps remain.

  5. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs until slightly frothy. Gradually pour the chocolate mixture into the eggs, whisking constantly.

  6. Divide the mixture into 4 silicone egg molds or ramekins and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.

  7. Once the truffle eggs are set, carefully remove them from the molds and serve chilled.
