Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt, to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • Optional toppings: olive oil, paprika, chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, and salt.

  2. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides if necessary.

  3. If the hummus is too thick, gradually add water until desired consistency is reached.

  4. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

  5. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with paprika and parsley, if desired.

  6. Serve with pita bread, vegetables, or your favorite dippers.
