Ingredients

  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the milk and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.

  2. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the mixture for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. The mixture should reduce in volume and become thick and golden brown in color.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. Allow the mixture to cool before using. It will continue to thicken as it cools.

  5. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
