How To Make Traditional Thanksgiving Dressing Recipe

Classic savory stuffing made with seasoned bread, celery, onions and chicken broth, a Thanksgiving staple.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of bread cubes (day-old)
  • 1 cup of celery, chopped
  • 1 cup of onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of pepper
  • 1 tsp of sage, dried
  • 1 tsp of thyme, dried
  • 1 3/4 cups of chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a pan, sauté celery and onion in butter until tender.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, salt, pepper, sage and thyme. Mix well.

  4. Slowly pour in chicken broth, stirring constantly until bread is moist but not mushy.

  5. Transfer mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.

  6. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until stuffing is golden brown on the top.
