How To Make Cornbread and Sausage Dressing Recipe

Traditional stuffing with a twist of cornbread and sausage.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cornbread, crumbled
  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp sage
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a skillet, cook sausage until browned. Drain and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, cook celery, onion, and garlic in butter until softened.

  4. Add poultry seasoning, sage, and thyme. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

  5. In a large bowl, mix together crumbled cornbread, sausage, and vegetable mixture.

  6. Slowly add chicken broth, mixing until mixture is moistened.

  7. Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish.

  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown on top.
