Halloween Spider Cookies Recipe

How To Make Halloween Spider Cookies

Scary and delicious Halloween cookies with chocolate spider legs and candy eyes.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
  • 48 long black licorice laces
  • 32 candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract, mix well.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture until well combined.

  4. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and chill for 30 minutes.

  5. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  6. Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes until slightly firm to the touch.

  7. Let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  8. Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler.

  9. Dip each cookie into melted chocolate until fully coated.

  10. Place licorice legs on the top of the cookie to look like a spider.

  11. Place two candy eyes on the top of each cookie to finish.
