Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

  3. Add the softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

  4. Gradually add the buttermilk, mixing well after each addition.

  5. Divide the batter into two bowls. Add green food coloring to one bowl and mix until desired color is achieved.

  6. Pour the green batter into the greased cake pan, followed by the plain batter. Swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Allow the cake to cool completely before removing from the pan.
