  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
