How To Make Spicy Pork Bao Buns

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sriracha sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 12 bao buns
  • Sliced cucumbers and carrots, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sriracha sauce, sesame oil, green onions, cilantro, sugar, and cornstarch. Mix well.

  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the pork mixture and cook until the pork is browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

  3. Remove the pork from the heat and let it cool slightly. Once cooled, fill each bao bun with a spoonful of the pork mixture.

  4. Steam the bao buns according to the package instructions until they are soft and fluffy.

  5. Serve the spicy pork bao buns with sliced cucumbers and carrots on the side.
