Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork spare ribs
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).

  2. Place the pork spare ribs in a baking dish.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, Chinese five spice powder, and black pepper.

  4. Pour the hoisin sauce mixture over the spare ribs, making sure they are evenly coated.

  5. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1.5 hours.

  6. Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, or until the spare ribs are tender and caramelized.

  7. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
