Ingredients

  • 4 pounds pork shoulder
  • 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
  • 2 tablespoons Hawaiian sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).

  2. Score the pork shoulder with a sharp knife, then rub the liquid smoke all over the meat.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the pork.

  4. Place the pork in a roasting pan and add the water to the bottom of the pan.

  5. Cover the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil and place in the preheated oven.

  6. Slow roast the pork for 3 hours, or until it is fork-tender and easily shreds.

  7. Once cooked, remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.

  8. Shred the pork using two forks, then serve hot.
