How To Make Easy Roast Pork Shoulder

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs pork shoulder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. Pat the pork shoulder dry with paper towels.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  4. Rub the olive oil all over the pork shoulder, then sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the entire roast.

  5. Place the seasoned pork shoulder on a rack in a roasting pan and cover with foil.

  6. Roast in the preheated oven for 3 hours.

  7. Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).

  8. Continue roasting for another hour, or until the pork shoulder is browned and crispy on the outside.

  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
