Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 cup diced potatoes
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned and onion is softened.

  3. Add potatoes, apples, beef broth, thyme, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes until potatoes are tender.

  4. Transfer the filling mixture to a pie dish and spread it evenly.

  5. Roll out the puff pastry and cover the pie dish, trimming off any excess pastry. Cut a few vents on the top crust for steam to escape.

  6. Brush the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish.

  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
