Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 2 cups cabbage, shredded
- 1 carrot, shredded
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 large cabbage leaves
Instructions
-
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
-
Add the onion, garlic, and ginger to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the onion is soft.
-
Stir in the shredded cabbage and carrot, and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly wilted.
-
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, salt, and pepper. Pour the sauce over the beef mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated.
-
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, until the flavors have melded together.
-
Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to boil. Blanch the cabbage leaves for 1-2 minutes, then remove and drain.
-
To serve, spoon the ground beef mixture onto the blanched cabbage leaves and roll them up, tucking in the sides as you go.
-
Serve the Asian-style ground beef cabbage wraps warm and enjoy!
