Ingredients

  • 1 lb thin-stemmed broccoli
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 shallots, thinly sliced
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim the ends of the broccoli stems and rinse the broccoli under cold water. Set aside.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the shallots until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.

  3. Steam the broccoli for about 3-4 minutes until tender yet still crisp. Remove from the heat and transfer to a serving dish.

  4. Drizzle the hoisin sauce over the broccoli and sprinkle with fried shallots. Season with salt to taste.

  5. Serve hot as a side dish with your favorite main course.
