Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  3. Shape the mixture into 4 burger patties.

  4. In a separate bowl, toss the sweet potato wedges with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  5. Place the turkey burgers on a preheated grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

  6. While the burgers are cooking, spread the buns with your favorite condiments.

  7. Transfer the sweet potato wedges to a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.

  8. Top each turkey burger with a slice of cheddar cheese.

  9. Assemble the burgers by placing the turkey burgers on the buns and topping with your desired toppings.

  10. Serve the turkey burgers with the crispy sweet potato wedges.
