How To Make Healthy Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, rolled oats, red onion, bell peppers, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. Form the mixture into 4 evenly sized burger patties.

  3. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.

  4. Cook the burgers for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

  5. Toast the whole wheat burger buns if desired.

  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked patty on each bun and adding your favorite toppings.

  7. Serve the healthy burgers with a side of salad or sweet potato fries.
