How To Make Prawn Jalfrezi

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 500g prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, sliced
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.

  2. Once the seeds splutter, add minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced green chilies. Saute for a minute.

  3. Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown.

  4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.

  5. Add sliced bell peppers and cook for a few minutes until they are slightly tender.

  6. Add prawns and cook until they turn pink and cooked through.

  7. Sprinkle garam masala and toss everything together.

  8. Serve hot with rice or naan.
