How To Make Indian Tofu Jalfrezi Recipe
A tangy and spicy stir-fry dish made with tofu and colorful bell peppers in a flavorful tomato-based sauce.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, drained and cut into cubes
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp of fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
- 1 tsp of cumin seeds
- 2 tsp of coriander powder
- 1 tsp of turmeric powder
- 2 tsp of red chili powder
- 1 tsp of garam masala powder
- 1 cup of crushed tomatoes
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter, add sliced onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.

Add the sliced bell peppers and fry for 5 minutes until they start to soften.

Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder. Mix well and fry for 2 minutes.

Add the crushed tomatoes, salt, and cubed tofu. Mix well and cook for 10 minutes.

Serve hot garnished with fresh coriander leaves.
