How To Make Oyster Stew Recipe
A creamy and savory stew made with fresh oysters and vegetables in a light broth.

Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh oysters
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Oyster crackers (optional)
Instructions

Drain oysters and reserve the liquid.

In a large pot, sauté onion and celery in butter until tender.

Add flour and stir for one minute.

Gradually stir in reserved oyster liquid, milk, cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add oysters and simmer for another 5 minutes.

Serve hot with oyster crackers (optional).
