How To Make Next Level Fish Pie

Ingredients

  • 500g white fish fillets
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 500g mashed potatoes
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. In a large pan, heat some oil over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until softened.

  3. Add the peas, carrots, and mushrooms to the pan and cook for another 5 minutes.

  4. Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and add the flour. Cook for a minute, then gradually stir in the milk until smooth.

  5. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened.

  6. Stir in the cheese and parsley, then season with salt and pepper.

  7. Meanwhile, place the fish fillets in a baking dish and season with salt and pepper. Pour the sauce over the fish.

  8. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the fish and sauce, then brush with melted butter.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the fish is cooked through.

  10. Serve hot and enjoy!
