Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 40 minutes
Total: 60 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb white fish fillets
  • 1 lb mussels
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and cook until softened.

  3. Add the ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine.

  4. Add the fish fillets and mussels to the skillet. Cook for a few minutes until the fish starts to turn opaque.

  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the vegetable broth, heavy cream, and flour. Pour the mixture into the skillet and stir gently to combine with the fish and mussels.

  6. Simmer for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.

  7. Transfer the mixture to a pie dish.

  8. Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly larger than the pie dish. Cut a few slits in the pastry to allow steam to escape.

  9. Place the puff pastry over the pie dish, pressing the edges to seal. Trim any excess pastry.

  10. Brush the top of the pastry with the beaten egg.

  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.

  12. Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before serving.
