Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 pound cod fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 can (14 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup pitted olives, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Season the cod fillets with salt and pepper.

  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the cod fillets and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  4. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  5. Add the diced tomatoes, olives, and capers to the skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes.

  6. Stir in the fresh spinach and cook until wilted.

  7. Return the cooked cod fillets to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.

  8. Serve the cod puttanesca over the cooked spaghetti. Garnish with fresh basil.
