How To Make Piri-Piri Chicken Pittas

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 pitta breads
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Piri-Piri sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.

  2. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, Piri-Piri sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well.

  3. Brush the chicken breasts with the marinade mixture on both sides.

  4. Grill the chicken for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.

  5. While the chicken is cooking, heat the pitta breads on the grill for 1-2 minutes on each side, until warm and slightly toasted.

  6. Once the chicken is cooked, remove from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Then slice it into thin strips.

  7. Open up the warm pitta breads and fill them with the sliced chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions.

  8. Serve the Piri-Piri chicken pittas immediately.
