How To Make Miso-Glazed Roast Ham

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg ham
  • 3 tablespoons miso paste
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Score the skin of the ham with a sharp knife in a diagonal pattern.

  3. In a bowl, mix together miso paste, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium heat. Place the ham in the skillet and sear on all sides until browned.

  5. Brush the miso glaze all over the ham, making sure to coat it evenly.

  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast the ham for about 2 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F), basting occasionally with the pan juices.

  7. Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

  8. Serve the miso-glazed roast ham hot with the pan juices.
