Ingredients

  • 1 (4-pound) bone-in ham
  • 1 cup ginger beer
  • 1/2 cup gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).

  2. Place the ham on a rack in a large roasting pan.

  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the ginger beer, gochujang, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil.

  4. Pour half of the glaze over the ham, making sure to coat it evenly.

  5. Roast the ham in the preheated oven for 1 hour, basting with the remaining glaze every 15 minutes.

  6. After 1 hour, increase the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and continue roasting for another 30 minutes or until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

  7. Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
