How To Make Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 oz macaroni
  • 2 cups smoked Gouda cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs, optional

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.

  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.

  3. Gradually whisk in the milk, then add the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  4. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer.

  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the shredded Gouda cheese until melted and smooth.

  6. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well coated.

  7. Optional: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
