How To Make Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese Recipe

Ingredients
- 8 oz macaroni
- 2 cups smoked Gouda cheese, shredded
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs, optional
Instructions

Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.

Gradually whisk in the milk, then add the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer.

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the shredded Gouda cheese until melted and smooth.

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well coated.

Optional: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
