How To Make Penne with a Punchy Tuna Sauce

Ingredients
- 8 ounces penne pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (5 ounces) tuna in oil, drained
- 1 can (14 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions

Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and cook until softened.

Add the drained tuna to the skillet and break it up with a fork. Cook for 2 minutes.

Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Add the cooked penne to the skillet and toss until it is well coated in the sauce.

Serve the penne with a punchy tuna sauce hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
