How To Make Red-Neck Turtle Burgers

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon
  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions (optional)


  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, BBQ sauce, chopped onions, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. Divide the mixture evenly and shape into 4 patties.

  3. Preheat grill or frying pan over medium-high heat.

  4. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes per side or until desired doneness.

  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty and allow it to melt.

  6. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a slice of cooked bacon and caramelized onions, if desired. Place the top half of the bun on top.

  8. Serve the Red-Neck Turtle Burgers with your favorite side dishes.
