How To Make Italian Chicken & Butternut Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 butternut squash, peeled and cubed
  • 2 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until they become fragrant and translucent.

  3. Add the cubed butternut squash to the skillet and cook until it becomes tender, about 10 minutes. Stir in the dried oregano, basil, and thyme, and season with salt and pepper.

  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked and shredded chicken with the butternut squash mixture. Toss until well combined.

  5. Roll out the pre-made pie crust and press it into a pie dish. Fill the crust with the chicken and butternut mixture.

  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the pie.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
