  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of prosciutto
  • 4 slices of mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp of dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 cup of marinara sauce
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Place a chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound it with a meat mallet to even thickness. Repeat with the remaining chicken breasts.

  3. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

  4. Place a slice of prosciutto and a slice of mozzarella cheese on each chicken breast.

  5. Roll up the chicken breasts, securing them with toothpicks if necessary.

  6. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried sage, salt, and black pepper.

  7. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.

  8. Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.

  9. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5 minutes per side.

  10. Remove the skillet from the heat and pour the marinara sauce over the chicken breasts.

  11. Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).

  12. Remove the skillet from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.

  13. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
