How To Make Sage and Onion Bread

Flavorful bread infused with the aromatic herbs of sage and onion.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp of chopped fresh sage leaves
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

  3. Stir in chopped onion and chopped sage leaves.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and olive oil.

  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.

  6. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased baking dish or loaf pan.

  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.

  8. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
