Ingredients

  • 4 cups cubed day-old bread
  • 1/2 lb. sausage
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 2 tbsp. chopped fresh sage
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Cook sausage in a skillet until browned and crumbled.

  3. Add butter, onion, celery, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper to the skillet and cook until the vegetables are soft.

  4. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and add bread cubes.

  5. Mix well and pour in chicken broth until the stuffing is moist.

  6. Spoon mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 30-40 minutes.
