Ingredients

  • 1 lb greens (such as kale, spinach, or collard greens), chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine the chopped greens, diced onion, minced garlic, chicken or vegetable broth, heavy cream, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.

  2. Cover and cook on low heat for 4 hours or until the greens are tender.

  3. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well combined.

  4. Serve hot as a side dish or over rice or pasta.
