How To Make Chocolate-Orange Steamed Pudding with Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp orange zest
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- For the Chocolate Sauce:
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, combine the milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice.

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Grease a heatproof bowl or pudding mold, then pour the batter into it. Cover tightly with foil.

Place the bowl in a large pot with a trivet or small plate on the bottom. Fill the pot with water, about halfway up the sides of the bowl.

Cover the pot with a lid and steam on medium-low heat for 1 hour 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the pudding comes out clean.

Meanwhile, prepare the chocolate sauce. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips and butter until melted and smooth.

Once the pudding is cooked, carefully remove it from the pot and let it cool for a few minutes.

Invert the pudding onto a serving plate and drizzle with the chocolate sauce.
