Ingredients
- 2 large onions
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions

Slice the onions into 1/2 inch rings and separate them.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, paprika, and black pepper.

Dip each onion ring into the buttermilk, then coat it in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).

Fry the onion rings in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
