Ingredients

  • 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Add shrimp and cook until lightly golden, about 2-3 minutes each side.

  3. Remove shrimp from pan and set aside.

  4. Add garlic to the same pan and sauté until fragrant.

  5. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and cornstarch.

  6. Add the sauce to the pan and bring to a simmer.

  7. Stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.

  8. Add the shrimp back to the pan and toss to coat with sauce.

  9. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve.
