Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Mix in the maple syrup, egg yolk, and vanilla extract.

  4. Add the flour and salt, and mix until just combined.

  5. Fold in the chopped pecans.

  6. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, form the dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  7. Flatten each ball slightly with your fingers.

  8. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
