Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup apple jelly
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped apples

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.

  3. Beat in egg yolk, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.

  4. Add flour gradually and mix until dough comes together.

  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and press your thumb into the center of each ball to make an indentation.

  6. Fill each indentation with apple jelly and sprinkle chopped apples on top.

  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

  8. Allow cookies to cool before serving.
