How To Make Blackberry & Apple Lattice Pie
A delicious pie filled with fresh blackberries and apples, topped with a beautiful lattice crust.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups blackberries
- 2 cups chopped apples
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar (optional)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine the blackberries, apples, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well.

Roll out one of the pie crusts and press it into a 9-inch pie dish. Trim any excess dough.

Pour the blackberry and apple mixture into the pie crust.

Roll out the second pie crust and cut it into 1/2-inch strips.

Create a lattice pattern on top of the pie by weaving the strips over and under each other.

Brush the lattice crust with milk and sprinkle with turbinado sugar, if desired.

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
