How To Make Tamarind Rice Noodles

A tangy and flavorful dish made with rice noodles and tamarind sauce.

Ingredients

  • 250g rice noodles
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1/4 cup tamarind paste
  • 1 tbsp jaggery
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice noodles in water for 15 minutes and then drain.

  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions and green chili until onions turn translucent.

  3. Add tamarind paste, jaggery, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to taste.

  4. Cook until the mixture thickens and oil separates.

  5. Add the soaked rice noodles and mix well.

  6. Cook for 5-10 minutes until noodles are coated with the tamarind sauce.

  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
