How To Make The Oasis

The freshness of watermelon combined with lemon and lime sherbet makes this drink a must-have on your weekend parties.

  • 4 lbs watermelon
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 quart lemon-lime beverage, chilled
  • lime sherbet
  • fresh mint leaves
  • Maraschino cherries


  1. Remove rind and seeds from watermelon.

  2. Puree melon with a blender.

  3. Stir in sugar and lemon juice, chill.

  4. To serve, pour about ⅓ cup puree mixture into a tall glass; fill with the lemon-lime beverage.

  5. Top with a scoop of sherbet; garnish with mint leaves and cherries.

  6. This can also be served in a scooped-out watermelon half.
