Ingredients

  • 200g marzipan
  • 100g powdered sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 150g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Sliced almonds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  2. In a bowl, mix together the marzipan, powdered sugar, egg whites, and almond extract until well combined.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the marzipan mixture, stirring until a dough forms.

  5. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a round disk.

  6. Place the disks onto the prepared baking tray and press a few sliced almonds onto the top of each disk.

  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

  8. Allow the marzipan old fashioneds to cool on the tray before serving.
