How To Make Plum Pudding

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup suet
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped plums
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup currants
- 1/4 cup chopped almonds
- 1/4 cup mixed peel
- 1 tsp mixed spice
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup brandy (optional)
Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, breadcrumbs, suet, brown sugar, plums, raisins, currants, almonds, mixed peel, mixed spice, cinnamon, and salt.

Gradually add in the milk and mix until you have a thick batter-like consistency.

Grease a pudding basin with butter and fill it with the pudding mixture.

Cover the basin with parchment paper and secure it with a string or elastic band.

Place the basin in a large pot and fill the pot with water until it reaches halfway up the side of the basin.

Bring the water to a simmer, cover the pot, and steam the pudding for 2 hours.

Once cooked, remove the basin from the pot and let it cool slightly.

Remove the parchment paper and invert the pudding onto a serving plate.

If desired, pour brandy over the top of the pudding and carefully ignite it for a festive touch.

Serve the plum pudding warm with your favorite sauce or custard.
