How To Make Homemade Banana Pudding Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 ½ cups of vanilla wafers
- ⅓ cup of granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons of cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- 2 ½ cups of milk
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Whipped cream, for topping
Instructions

In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

In a small bowl, temper the beaten eggs by gradually whisking in ½ cup of the hot milk mixture. Pour the tempered eggs back into the saucepan, whisking constantly.

Return the saucepan to medium heat and cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the pudding cool for 10 minutes.

In serving dishes or a large bowl, layer the vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding. Repeat the layers.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld together.

Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and additional banana slices, if desired.
